Interesting title...

As I was searching through AtoZ today I noticed the title of a journal called " The Art of Headless Chicken Management." No kidding. Being a curious person, I ventured on to see what this journal (?) had to offer. It is a humorous look at management, written by a British author. It is actually a book and I'm not quite sure how it got into the AtoZ list or if it should be there. I'm thinking about reading the book before asking AtoZ customer service to investigate it...

Update on Science Journal availability via eLibrary

I received the following email from an A to Z representative concerning our access to Science Journal via A to Z:

Thank you for contacting Customer Care. Per our conversation on March 11,
2009, the eLibrary resource has been removed from the title,
Science, in A-to-Z.

We still have access to Science journal through other vendors with full text available through December 24, 2004.

Thanks.

Science journal

Hey all,

I was looking for an online journal entitled "Science" that the AAAS sends out. When I looked in our A to Z list, it shows that we do have online journal with access through quite a few different databases, but only eLibrary listed access as "1997 to present" with a one year embargo. I went to eLibrary and searched for that journal title without luck. I was able to find many journals with science as one of the words in the title, but not that journal specifically. There is no way that I could find in eLibrary to do a search using the ISSN. Since I seemed to have hit a brick wall, I called Ebsco A to Z and they are looking into the issue.

So if anyone is looking for recent articles from Science, ISSN 0036-8075 (print) or 1095-9203 (online), I'm not sure that we have access. I'm waiting for an email response and will pass on what I find out.

Marko Phelps came over with the Dell rep. a few minutes ago. On their way downstairs they asked about the printer. I mentioned that it sometimes doesn’t pull from the bottom tray. The rep. said there is an update that might fix that problem and that he will send it to Marko so he can push it out to that printer. And he was impressed with our printer issues folder. I think he was in a bit of shock at the number of pages we have printed so far!

Excelsior Nursing Exam Guidelines location and Kudos

Good morning everyone. I want to pass along some info that might be common knowledge to everyone, but just in case it isn't... Last night when I was on the desk a student's spouse came up asking about the Excelsior College Exam guidelines for Nursing. After speaking with someone here at the library he came to the school to download the exams onto a thumb drive for his wife, who is trying to get into the Nursing program. I didn't know what guidelines he was talking about and couldn't find anything after a quick look at the Testing and Education Reference Center. Luckily the fellow was able to remember the directions he was given by the person he spoke to here and he directed me to the requested Excelsior guidelines. Whoever gave this fellow directions on how to find the exam guidelines did a great job. Kudos to you!

Under eReserves > Program you will find the Excelsior guidelines.

So get to posting...and if you prefer, we can set this so that only we can see the posts...Let me know.

Thanks!
